The opening ceremony for China Modern Folk Painting Art Week and Biennial Exhibition series took place in Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on April 20. The event featured 200 outstanding folk painting works from across the country.
These works were selected from nearly 700 entries from 92 creative locations, with 16 local Xiuzhou works highlighting a rich rural flavor and unique artistic style.
During the event, a significant collaboration occurred as the Jiaxing Branch of Zhejiang Culture Assets and Equity Exchange was launched in Xiuzhou.
This initiative included the listing of renowned Xiuzhou artist Feng Yunqing's folk painting for trading on the exchange's platform, bringing new opportunities to the art market. With 1500 copies priced at 99 yuan ($14) each, the project aims to invigorate the art market and create new paths for the preservation and development of folk painting.
Xiuzhou, with its rich cultural heritage, is making significant efforts to promote folk painting from local fields to a national and global stage, embodying a cultural renaissance that promises a bright future for Xiuzhou's cultural and economic landscape.
