Niterói, covering an area of 129.4 square kilometers, is a major city in the southeastern part of Brazil and close to the city of Rio de Janeiro. It has a population of approximately 480,000.

The city is renowned for its high quality of life, ranking first among the 81 cities of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Its economy thrives in commerce, ports, oil and gas, and services, with growing investment in tourism, technology, fisheries, and small businesses. Additionally, Niterói holds historical significance as the birthplace of the Brazilian Communist Party.

The city is home to the iconic Rio-Niterói Bridge, the longest sea-crossing bridge in South America and a key tourist attraction.
