The Legoland Shanghai Resort opened on July 5 as China's first Legoland resort and the largest Legoland park in the world at opening.

Covering 318,000 square meters, the park features eight themed zones, over 75 attractions, and thousands of Lego models built from more than 85 million bricks.

Positioned in Jinshan district, the park aims to capture the growing demand for family-friendly travel in the Yangtze River Delta region, where theme parks are increasingly concentrated.

Nearby cities like Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, and particularly Jiaxing — just 15 minutes away by high-speed rail — are key sources for ticket sales. Forecasts estimate up to 2.4 million visitors annually.

Legoland joins a competitive theme park cluster that includes Disneyland in Shanghai, Dinosaur Park in Changzhou, and a host of international intellectual property projects in development. The Yangtze River Delta region's high per capita income and spending power make it a prime destination for large-scale leisure investments.

Legoland also localizes its offerings with features like the "Lego Monkie Kid" zone inspired by Journey to the West, Jiangnan-themed boat rides, and a Miniland with landmarks from Suzhou, Hangzhou, and beyond.

With family-oriented attractions and easy access by high-speed rail, Legoland is well placed to attract visitors in the Yangtze River Delta's growing leisure market.
