Wuzhen scenic area in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has introduced its Summer Festival, running from July 8 to Aug 31, offering a refreshing seasonal escape that combines traditions with contemporary experiences.

While many ancient towns face the heat with uniform routines, Wuzhen's blend of riverside charm and cultural depth provides visitors with a distinctive way to enjoy summer.

The event spans multiple themed zones, including immersive art, live music, water games, outdoor dining, and family-friendly activities.

At dusk, Xizha Street transforms into a water-splashing lane, reviving the town's old custom of cooling stone paths with sprayed water. Guests can enjoy playful water fights and cool down with watermelon and herbal tea.
