Over 50 young people from Serbia visited Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province on Aug 9, experiencing the city's cultural and industrial appeal.

The trip was part of the third session of the "China-Serbia Youth International Cultural Exchange Camp", designed to foster connections through interactive experiences.

During the visit, the youth toured the Majiabang Cultural Museum and learned about Jiaxing's ancient rice cultivation through artifacts and historical records. At a production workshop in Wufangzhai Industrial Park, they observed how rice is transformed into diverse products, expressing surprise at its versatility. Many said the trip deepened their understanding of rice's role in Chinese life as both sustenance and a cultural symbol.

This year marks 70 years of China-Serbia friendship. Since its launch in August 2024, the exchange camp has held three sessions for over 250 participants, with Jiaxing serving as a key stop.

The Jiaxing visit formed part of a 12-day program that will also take the Serbian group to Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to experience both historical heritage and modern development across China.
