The seasonal fruits in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, are reaching global markets, with grapes and pears now in harvest season.

A batch of Cuiguan pears from Honghe town in Xiuzhou district was cleared by Jiaxing Customs and shipped abroad on Aug 18, with individual pears weighing over 300 grams destined for supermarkets in Dubai.

The export marks another step for Jiaxing following the international debut of its Zuili plum, a variety with a history of over 1,000 years. The expansion from single-fruit exports to multiple varieties reflects a shift toward collective overseas development. With rising global demand for high-quality produce, more of Jiaxing's produce is expected to reach international markets.

To support the exports, Jiaxing Customs has collaborated with local agricultural departments to establish quality management systems for local farms, focusing on pest monitoring and pesticide control. Farms have also been guided through orchard and packaging registration for outbound sales. A "green channel" was introduced to offer priority checks and 24-hour on-call inspection services for the safe and efficient clearance of fresh fruit.
