German coatings firm begins trial production in Jiaxing's Dushan Port

The opening ceremony of the Mankiewicz Dushan Plant was held in Dushan Port Economic Development Zone, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 16. The new facility, a $45-million investment, was established by Mankiewicz Zhejiang Innovative Coating Technology.

The facility, covering 4 hectares, serves as a key project that will boost the area's aerospace and high-end manufacturing sectors by producing 16,000 metric tons of environmentally friendly coatings annually.

Founded in 1895, Mankiewicz is a German coatings company with over a century of expertise in aerospace, automotive, and industrial protective coatings. Its new plant adopts advanced eco-friendly production processes that comply with both European Union and Chinese environmental standards.

The site is strategically positioned to supply the Yangtze River Delta region's automotive and equipment manufacturing clusters, enhancing the region's downstream industrial ecosystem.

Thanks to its strategic location near Shanghai, Dushan Port Economic Development Zone has developed strong PTA and carbon-three industry chains, attracting global companies. In 2024, new material firms in the zone achieved a total output value of 51.12 billion yuan ($7.17 billion).
