Twenty-five expats from countries including Russia, South Africa, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Vietnam visited Wangjiangjing town in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Nov 2 to experience rural beauty and harvest culture.
The group first visited Changhong village, where a century-old granary has been transformed into an art space.
At Qianliji, a cultural creative park built from former warehouses, creative handicrafts and design goods showcased the fusion of canal culture with contemporary art and leisure activities. Participants also tried traditional Chinese crafts, such as tea ceremonies and incense-making, gaining a deeper appreciation for Chinese heritage.
In Gutang village, golden rice fields signaled the harvest season. The group joined in reaping and threshing, rode tractors through the fields, and took part in festive vegetable-themed games at the nearby family park.
Wangjiangjing has become a model for integrating agriculture and tourism in the Yangtze River Delta region. By choosing this area as the experience site, the event aimed to highlight Jiaxing's achievements in rural vitalization and cultural preservation.
