Yupont Smart Energy Technology Jinxing Industrial Park opened on Nov 30 in Haiyan county, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, bringing a 1 billion yuan ($141 million) energy-storage project with an annual capacity of 10 gigawatt hours into operation.

The facility covers 57 mu (3.8 hectares) with a floor area of 73,900 square meters. Built by Beijing Yupont Electric Power Technology, the site integrates research, production, and services. It includes PACK production lines, commercial and industrial storage systems, and containerized storage integration lines, supplying equipment, technical support, and full-solution services that fill gaps in the local manufacturing chain.

Founded in 1996, Beijing Yupont specializes in smart-grid equipment, software systems, and grid-operation technologies. As the company's second expansion in Haiyan after five years, the project reflects recognition of the county's industrial ecosystem, business support, and market potential.

The company noted that the project moved from negotiation to signing within one month, with construction advancing efficiently. Since the company established its subsidiary in July 2023, Yupont Smart Energy Technology has focused on large-scale energy storage for power generation and commercial use, building capacities across research, manufacturing, and project operations. The firm also reported that it surpassed its goals, achieving completed project value of 750 million yuan in just over two years.
