Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province has achieved its first export under the market procurement trade model, with a truck carrying more than 23,600 Honghe sweaters clearing customs in Jiaxing and bound for Chile in South America via Ningbo Port, marking a breakthrough for the city foreign trade.

The market procurement trade model, designed for multi-variety, multi-batch, small-volume exports, allows qualified operators to purchase goods within approved market clusters and complete export procedures directly at the procurement site, with each declaration capped at $150,000. This model lowers barriers for small manufacturers and household workshops that lack foreign trade qualifications but have strong product competitiveness.

As a major knitwear hub with eight professional markets and over 70,000 practitioners, Honghe town has long faced challenges, including a lack of export rights, difficulty issuing value-added tax invoices, and high logistics costs. This model provides a compliant and efficient channel that enables even a single sweater to reach global markets.

The "SweaterPi" platform in Honghe supports services including customs declaration, logistics coordination, digital marketing, settlement, and multilingual translation. It previously completed Jiaxing's first cross-border e-commerce transaction, helping micro and small businesses connect with overseas buyers online.

Since the beginning of this year, the platform has organized trade missions to the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, strengthening the city's cross-border ecosystem.
