Livestreaming boosts e-commerce in Liandu

According to official data, from January to May, the online retail sales volume of Liandu district in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, reached 3.47 billion yuan ($491.52 million), with a year-on-year growth of 43.5 percent and accounting for 30.13 percent of the city's total share.

"In the past six months, Liandu e-commerce has become a blockbuster," said Shen Jiasheng, general manager of an enterprise located in Liandu e-commerce entrepreneurship and innovation complex. "Since logistics resumed operation in March, the sales volume of goods in our livestreaming studio has exceeded one million yuan every month, and in June it exceeded five million yuan."

According to officials of the economic and commercial bureau of Liandu district, from 2018 to 2019, the project to cultivate agricultural products and e-commerce talents in Liandu district has achieved phased results, with many e-commerce talents, e-commerce lecturers and some distinctive web celebrity anchors emerging.

The innovative way of combining Liandu high-quality agricultural products with the web celebrity economy has been widely recognized. Enterprises in Lishui industrial park are also seeking opportunities in the online new economy.

Ouzhibao Technology Co Ltd, for instance, held its first livestreaming on June 2, which sold products worth 281,256 yuan in just two hours.
