An extravaganza of lights, color and action took place when the 2020 Guyan Huaxiang Art Festival kicked off on Aug 28 in the Guyan Huaxiang Scenic Area in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported.
Wang Shuaihong, deputy secretary-general of the China Artists Association, spoke highly of Guyan Huaxiang in her speech during the opening ceremony.
"Through the art festival, we can see the prosperity of Lishui's fine arts and we can feel the efforts Zhejiang has made in promoting culture and art," she said.
The China Artists Association and the Liandu district government signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the holding of National Landscape Oil Painting Biennale in Guyan Huaxiang during the opening ceremony.
In addition to painting, Guyan Huaxiang also turned its attention to online literature. The signing ceremony for the new Lishui online literature creation center was held during the festival, which officials said marked a new turning point in the cultural and artistic development of Guyan Huaxiang.
