In order to promote its home-grown celadon porcelain to the world, Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province, launched an overseas exhibition this year.

Longquan celadon is a famous type of glazed porcelain made in the city. The celadon produced by the Longquan kiln is outstanding for its translucent glaze, jade-like coating and exquisite shapes.

The first Longquan Celadon Exhibition Corner opened on Dec 8 in the China Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea, showcasing masterpieces by 45 artists.

At the launch ceremony for the exhibition, Wang Yanjun, cultural counselor at the Chinese embassy to South Korea and director of the China Cultural Center, spoke highly of Longquan's celadon culture.

He said that the exhibits carried the friendship of the Chinese people to the people of South Korea.

Moving forwards, the Longquan Celadon Exhibition Corner will expand its content. It will also invite overseas celadon scholars to carry out online cultural exchanges and interactions with the inheritors of Longquan celadon, according to officials.
