The 2022 China Software Industry Innovation and Development Conference opened in Longwan district, Wenzhou on July 14 and 15, local media outlets reported.

The two-day event attracted more than 200 experts and scholars in the software industry and hosted a variety of roundtable discussions, symposiums, and industrial matchmakings, exploring China's cutting-edge software industry.

The Wenzhou International Cloud Software Valley officially opened to the public during the event, along with the release of the industrial planning of the valley's core area and the settlement of six enterprises, including MicroFocus, Vantiq, and Vortex Bladeless.

The valley reflected Wenzhou's ambition to empower itself with strong software capabilities. The city is planning to spend three to five years cultivating more than 300 software enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 20 million yuan ($2.96 million), hiring more than 30,000 employees in the local software industry, and raising the industrial value of software and information services to over 100 billion yuan.

Wenzhou has spared no effort to support the development of the local software industry, including cultivating market players, investing in enterprise innovation, building enterprise brands, expanding markets, and ensuring production factors.

For example, the city promised to award 15 percent of sales to newly-introduced global top 500 and China top 100 software enterprises, with a maximum award of 15 million yuan. For other newly-introduced software enterprises, 10 percent of sales will be awarded, with a maximum award of 5 million yuan.
