Zhu Shenghao

Zhu Shenhao is a well-known translator of Shakespeare's dramas in China. He was born on Feb 2, 1912 in an impoverished businessman's family from Jiaxing. 

After the September 18th Incident of 1931, Zhu dedicated himself to resisting Japanese aggression.

He translated dramas from 1936 when he was in Shanghai. In January 1943, he and his wife came back to Jiaxing and there he translated 31 dramas in one and a half years. On December 26, 1944, at the age of 32, he died of tuberculosis at his residence.
