'Elegant Tongxiang' brand promoted to boost cultural tourism

Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, has attached great importance to its new brand "Elegant Tongxiang", which it hopes will increase tourism to the city.

Tongxiang features a blend of tradition and modernity and is the country's first pilot county for comprehensive tourism reform. It is also a national demonstration zone for all-for-one tourism, which means driving the economy on all cylinders through the boom of tourism.

Over the years, the city has carried out a number of tourism projects and worked to strengthen cooperation with the national tourism industry by taking part in the 16th Shanghai World Travel Fair, the 14th Yiwu Cultural Products Trade Fair, and more. It is using such events to promote cultural items like blue and white cloth and bamboo weavings.

Tongxiang has been working to spread traditional Tongxiang culture throughout the Yangtze River Delta with the aim of strengthening the city's cultural confidence.

In the future, the city plans to hold promotional meetings to boost its cultural tourism sector. It is expected to organize more cultural activities in surrounding areas such as Shanghai and Hangzhou to teach people about its culture and tourism attractions, including its Grand Canal, ancient towns, sericulture, and folk customs.

Additionally, the city will introduce an online platform for cultural exchanges in the Yangtze River Delta region to provide information and promote resource-sharing in the region.
