Seven industry towns in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province were deemed to have had outstanding performance in 2019, according to the recently published assessment results by the Jiaxing Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

Xiuzhou Intelligent Logistics Town houses more than 100 intelligent logistics companies focusing on intelligent warehousing, fourth-party logistics, supply chain management, and regional distribution.

In 2019, the Xiuzhou industry town invested more than 1 billion yuan ($141.32 million), and its service industry generated 4.25 billion yuan in operation revenue.

Jiashan Internet Communications Town is dedicated to becoming a world-leading optical communication manufacturing base, bonded logistics base in the Yangtze River Delta region, and demonstration base in Zhejiang for the replacement of human workers with robots.

The other five industry towns, which include Jiashan Ganyao Robot Town, Haining Chaoyun Town, Xiuzhou Intelligent Home Town, Jiaxing Canal Intelligent Town and Pinghu Modern Printing Town, highlight distinctive industries, livable environments, and better integration among industrial production, daily life and the natural environment.

Since 2015, Jiaxing has been making efforts to develop industry towns. It currently has 18 provincial-level industry towns focusing on high-end equipment manufacturing, information economy, tourism, fashion, healthcare and finance.

Statistics show that in 2019, industry towns in Jiaxing attracted 35 Global Fortune 500 companies, 32 of China's top 500 companies, 11,476 skilled professionals, and 37.94 million tourists, accounting for more than 30 percent of the total tourists in Jiaxing last year.
