Jiaxing Xiuhu School in Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, opened to the public on Aug 28, local media reported.
Covering an area of 56,549 square meters, Jiaxing Xiuhu School is a nine-year full-time public school funded by the Xiuzhou district government and operated by the Shanghai-based World Foreign Language Education Group (WFL Education).
WFL Education has contributed to the construction of the school and is in charge of recruitment, course design, and administrative management.
The school is designed to accommodate 60 classes. This year, it will offer seven classes, including four first grade elementary classes and three first year junior high school classes.
In addition to classroom buildings, the school also has a track and field, basketball court, badminton court, stormproof playground, heated swimming pool, library, and many other facilities.
In recent years, Xiuzhou has been ramping up efforts to balance its educational resources and improve its educational environment.
Xiuzhou has created seven State-level public specialist schools and 12 provincial-level public specialist schools.
Among them, Xiuzhou Foreign Language School affiliated with Shanghai International Studies University and Xiuzhou Experimental School affiliated with Zhejiang Normal University have become symbols of public education in the district.
