Haining Economic Development Zone
The Haining Economic Development Zone was established in 1992 and approved as a provincial economic development zone by the Zhejiang Provincial Government in 1997.
In 2009, the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-tech Development Zone established a branch in the Haining Economic Development Zone, making it the first cross-regional industry park in Shanghai and Zhejiang.
In 2016, the Haining Economic Development Zone was recognized as a national demonstration zone in industrial transformation and upgrading along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
As of March 2018, the zone had had more than 2,470 companies, including over 200 companies invested by US, European, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan companies. Twenty companies in the zone have investments of more than $30 million.
The Haining Economic Development Zone boasts a superior geographical location as it is located just 100 kilometers from Shanghai to the east, 60 km from Hangzhou to the west, 90 km from Suzhou to the north and 180 km from Ningbo to the south.
