Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province was ranked 8th on a list of the top 100 prefecture-level cities in comprehensive brand influence, local media reported on May 9.

The list was compiled by the China City Brand Evaluation Project Team and the China City News Agency and is based on 37 factors including composite credit index, number of days with good air, green coverage ratio, employment rate and per capita disposable income.

More than 90 percent of the surface water of Jiaxing municipal government-controlled rivers' sections have met the requirements for drinking water sources in 2020, while 87.2 percent of the days in the same year had a good air quality with an of average 28 microgram per cubic meter in PM 2.5 concentration.

In the first quarter of the year, both the per capita disposable income of rural and urban residents in Jiaxing experienced double-digit increases to 14,181 yuan ($2,208) and 20,730 yuan respectively.
