Jiaxing University approved to grant master's degrees

Jiaxing University in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province recently received approval from the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to award master's degrees, local media reported on Nov 13.
The university is capable of granting a master's degree to students majoring in Marxist theory, materials and chemicals engineering, as well as accounting.
Since 2003, Jiaxing University has cooperated with 23 universities from home and abroad to cultivate more than 1,000 undergraduate students. It is also home to over 260 graduate student tutors.
Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2000, Jiaxing University is a full-time comprehensive university for undergraduates that boasts three campuses, Yuexiu, Lianglin, and Pinghu, spanning a total area of about 124 hectares.
The university has 15,600 full-time students and over 8,000 continuing education students. It employs more than 1,700 teaching and administrative staff members, including 10 academicians.
The university has established cooperation relations with 62 universities and institutes from 18 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Japan, as well as South Korea.
