One hundred and twenty-one enterprises engaged in the software business in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province generated over 2.77 billion yuan ($410.84 million) in revenue in the first four months of this year, a year-on-year growth of 53.6 percent.

Meanwhile, the revenue of information technology services increased steadily, reaching 1.23 billion yuan, an increase of 41.4 percent year-on-year. The growth rate of big data service revenue and integrated circuit design revenue was 87.7 percent and 267.1 percent respectively. The revenue of software products amounted to 907 million yuan, a growth of 157.1 percent year-on-year.

Official data showed that from January to April, five software companies generated revenues of more than 100 million yuan, while 15 enterprises had revenues over 50 million yuan and 30 others saw revenues exceed 20 million yuan.

Among them, the top five enterprises achieved a total of 1.1 billion yuan in software business revenue, accounting for 39.82 percent of the city's total. The total profit stood at 211 million yuan, accounting for 65.33 percent of the city's total.

The achievements in software business can be attributed to the city's policy support.

Major software projects are eligible for a maximum subsidy of 30 million yuan. Enterprises whose products are rated as provincial or national first edition software products will be given a one-time reward of 500,000 yuan and 1.5 million yuan respectively.
