Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province saw a market recovery during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday that ended on June 5, according to local media reports.

On June 3, the first day of the holiday, many automobile 4S stores in Jiaxing saw an influx in customers. Automobiles transactions increased with the help of subsidies and consumption coupons.

Nanhu district issued consumption subsidies for vehicles on June 3, and subsidies ranging from 2,000 ($299) to 5,000 yuan will be given to buyers according to the price of the vehicle they purchase. The policy will last until June 30.

Nearly 30 new cars were sold on June 3, and a majority of buyers used their consumption subsidies for vehicles. Sales doubled from before the Dragon Boat Festival, said Qiu Weiqing, marketing manager of GAC Toyota Youjia Store in Nanhu district.

In addition, shopping malls were popular destinations for many people during the festival. On June 3, the Nanhu Tiandi shopping center achieved double-digit growth in both consumer volume and sales. The number of consumers exceeded 75,000, a 200-percent increase over last weekend.
