The new railway spans a length of about 52.11 kilometers and has a designed speed of 160 km per hour.

The section from Jinshanwei to Dushan port is 10.47 km, while the section from Dushan port to Haiyan is about 41.64 km.

Seven stations will be set up along the Dushan port to the Haiyan section, including Dushan Port East Station, Dushan Port West Station, Zhapu Station, Lindai Station, Pinghu South Station, Haiyan Development Zone Station, and Haiyan East Station.

After the railway is completed, it will take only 50 minutes to travel between Pinghu and the Shanghai South Railway Station and 60 minutes from Haiyan to the Shanghai South Railway Station.

In the future, for the railway from Jinshan to Pinghu and Haiyan, the whole-day operation time will be extended to 18 hours, from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm.

The Jinshan-Pinghu Railway is the first inter-provincial railway in the Yangtze River Delta region and will promote the high-quality integrated development of the northern part of Hangzhou and Shanghai.
