Jiaxing V4 Leadership Forum kicks off

The Jiaxing V4 Leadership Forum, co-organized by the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government and Consulates General of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in Shanghai, was held on June 30.

V4, or Visegrad Group, is a political and cultural cooperation organization composed of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in central Europe, named after the Hungarian city of Visegrad.

In recent years, Jiaxing has accelerated its opening up to the outside world and made extensive international friends, with international partner cities playing an important role.

In addition, the Jiaxing V4 Conference on Culture and Tourism Cooperation was held that same day.

The Czech Republic is a landlocked country in central Europe with a population of about 10.7 million. Its capital and main tourist destination is Prague.

Czech puppet shows have a long history, and in 2016 Czech and Slovak puppet shows were added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Hungary, meanwhile, is a landlocked country located in central Europe with a population of 9.73 million.

The country's main tourist destinations include Budapest, Lake Balaton, Danube Bend, and Matrau Mountain. It is a world leader in educational attainment and has cultivated a number of pioneers in the fields of nuclear physics, computers and aerospace, including Leo Szilard, John von Neumann, and Theodore von Karman, and has produced 14 Nobel Prize winners.

Poland has a population of about 38.18 million and its capital is Warsaw.

Its main tourist attractions are Warsaw, the coastal cities of Sopot and Szczecin, and Torun, Olsztyn, Krakow, Zakopane and Krynica. Warsaw is home to the world's first poster museum.

Slovakia is a landlocked country in central Europe with a forest coverage rate equal to one-third of its total land area.

It boasts nine national parks and more than 1,300 hot springs and has among the most castles in the world.

The Slovak National Gallery, established in 1948, is the largest art gallery in Slovakia, while ice hockey and football are the most popular sports there.
