Shaya county in Aksu, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region held a promotional event for the tourism industry in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on July 4.

Shaya county, located at the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the northern edge of the Taklimakan Desert, boasts an abundance of tourism attractions, including the largest primitive populus euphratica forest in the world, Taklimakan Desert, the second largest desert in the world, and the Tarim River, the largest inland river in China.

Jiaxing and Shaya have long had a pairing assistance relationship. The promotional event held in Jiaxing aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two places and share in the dividends of the tourism market in the post epidemic era.

The director of the Shaya bureau of culture, sports, radio, television and tourism recommended two routes: the populus euphratica self-driving route and the Shaya-Niya exploration route.

The populus euphratica self-driving route is 139 kilometers long, and the Tarim River, three bridges, and nine typical landscapes can be admired along the road.

The Shaya-Niya exploration route is about 400 kilometers in length and will run through the Taklimakan Desert. The route starts at the ancient channel of the Tarim River in Shaya, passes through Daliyabuyi and ends at the ruins of Niya.
