Pinghu industrial economy grows in H1

The output value of 761 industrial enterprises above designated size in Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, totaled 84.67 billion yuan ($12.53 billion) from January to June, an increase of 14.7 percent year-on-year, according to the Pinghu economy and information technology bureau.

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city amounted to 17.66 billion yuan, up 6.1 percent year-on-year and 3.4 percentage points higher than Jiaxing's average.

Meanwhile, the added value of industrial enterprises involved in the manufacturing industry stood at 17.04 billion yuan, an uptick of 6 percent year-on-year. The added value of enterprises involved in 17 traditional industries was 13.05 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2 percent year-on-year. The added value of private economy expanded 13.3 percent year-on-year to 9.42 billion yuan.

Agreements for 17 new digital economy projects were signed in the first six months, with a total planned investment of 9.01 billion yuan. Pinghu has already built 18 digital economy manufacturing platforms, covering an area of 1,374 mu (91.6 hectares), and has attracted 206 enterprises.

In addition, to stabilize the development of enterprises during the COVID-19 epidemic, the city has so far paid a total of 1.28 billion yuan in bailout funds for enterprises, benefiting 2,986 enterprises.
