Nearly 50 companies from Jiaxing are attending the 2022 Light of Internet Expo, which opened in Wuzhen, an ancient town in the city in East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 8.

The companies are showcasing new products and technologies in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, industrial internet, new energy vehicles, 5G applications, and more.

As an integral part of the 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the expo has attracted 400-plus exhibitors, including 76 foreign companies from 40 countries and regions, according to the organizers.

Jiaxing, as the host city of the conference, has made strides in the development of the digital economy.

The proportion of these industries' added value in the city's GDP increased from 6.4 percent to 10.3 percent during the period, with the scale ranking second in Zhejiang for seven consecutive years.

In the first three quarters of this year, the added value of above-designated-size companies in the digital manufacturing sector in Jiaxing amounted to 40.73 billion yuan, up 14.6 percent year-on-year, with the amount and growth rate ranking third and fourth, respectively, in the province.

Over the same period, the city's investment in digital manufacturing grew by 68.1 percent to 31.32 billion yuan, accounting for 38.6 percent of the city’s total industrial investment.
