Hangzhou white chrysanthemum enters harvest season in Tongxiang

One thousand mu (67 hectares) of Hangzhou white chrysanthemums in Shimen town, Tongxiang, Jiaxing, recently entered harvest season, local media reported on Nov 12.

Tongxiang is the origin of the Hangzhou white chrysanthemum, and Hangzhou white chrysanthemum planting has been commercialized for nearly 400 years.

An entire industrial chain for the Hangzhou white chrysanthemum industry in Tongxiang has formed, including production, deep processing, brand marketing and tourism.

The annual planting area of Hangzhou white chrysanthemum in Tongxiang is currently about 50,000 mu. In 2021, its annual output reached 8,000 metric tons, generating an output value of 445 million yuan ($62.99 million).
