Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province was recently designated the Zhejiang provincial RCEP demonstration zone for high-level opening-up and cooperation, local media reported on Nov 21.

The city's exports to other RCEP member countries saw a year-on-year increase of 29.9 percent in the first three quarters of this year, 2.9 percentage higher than the provincial average.

This year, the city organized Zhejiang's first business charter flight to Japan to participate in the self-organized exhibition. Jiaxing had a total of 32 booths, the most in the province.

Meanwhile, the city has promoted the construction of its port's international route network. The Jiaxing Port-Vietnam container route saw its first voyage in 2021, while the Jiaxing Port-Thailand container route saw its first voyage in 2022.

In the first three quarters of this year, the city invested in 25 RCEP member countries, and the amount of foreign direct investment was $2.24 billion, ranking first in the province, 7.2 times that of the same period last year and accounting for 73.3 percent of the city's total investment.

In addition, the city issued 9,952 RCEP certificates of origin to 520 enterprises from January to September, allowing enterprises to enjoy import tariff reductions of about 30.97 million yuan ($4.32 million).
