Five places in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, were recently included on the 2022 list of China's top 100 counties in terms of investment competitiveness released by CCID Consulting Co Ltd.

The county-level cities of Haining, Tongxiang and Pinghu as well as the counties of Jiashan and Haiyan were included, ranking 16th, 22nd, 25th, 30th and 63rd, respectively.

Haining is located in the north of Zhejiang province, bordering Yuhang and Xiasha in Hangzhou to the west and about 70 kilometers from downtown Hangzhou. It is also located between the Yangtze River development zone and the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo development zone, both of which are home to abundant development resources.

In recent years, the annual output value of the digital economy in Tongxiang has reached 20 billion yuan ($2.87 billion), largely thanks to the transition from the traditional silk, chemical fiber and glass fiber industries to the modern intelligent automobile, computing, sensing and industrial Internet industries.

Pinghu's major industries, namely the digital, advanced equipment manufacturing, new material, fashion and future industries, are developing rapidly. In the first 10 months of this year, the industries achieved an added value of 20.88 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7 percent year-on-year.

Jiashan county is striving to develop its integrated circuit industry and has introduced public service platforms such as the Zhejiang Branch of the National IC Innovation Center of Fudan University, GIGA Force and Jiachen Semiconductor. In addition, more and more international and domestic high-end talent gather in the county, further boosting innovation within the industry.

Haiyan county has been experiencing rapid development by seizing the opportunities of Yangtze River Delta integration and the southbound extension belt of the Hongqiao International Open Hub. Emerging industries such as the application of nuclear technology, new energies and new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing are also booming.
