A Jiaxing delegation consisting of 50 enterprises and 96 people took a chartered flight from the Hangzhou International Airport on the morning of Dec 4 to participate in the Asia Fashion Fair (AFF) in Japan.

Another delegation led by the Jiaxing municipal commerce bureau took off from the Hangzhou International Airport at noon on the same day for a 6-day visit to Germany and France to attract investment.

A total of 80 groups in Jiaxing will go abroad to take part in exhibitions and attract investment in the near future, aiming to boost the city's foreign trade development.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 2,000 people have traveled abroad for business.

From January to October, the city's imports and exports reached 363.98 billion yuan ($52.31 billion), a year-on-year growth of 19.7 percent. Exports totaled 266.39 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.8 percent, while imports totaled 97.59 billion yuan, up 22.3 percent year-on-year.

During the same period, the actual utilization of foreign capital in the city exceeded $2.99 billion, ranking third in the province, a year-on-year growth of 8.5 percent.
