In the survey of public satisfaction of the ecological environment in Zhejiang province in 2022, Jiaxing scored 87.72 points, ranking fourth in the province and increasing for the 10th straight year, local media reported on Dec 6.

The continuous improvement of public satisfaction of the ecological environment can be attributed to the city's efforts to improve the environment.

From January to October, 95.2 percent of the city's 83 surface water monitoring sections above municipal control were classified as grade Ⅲ or above, an increase of 7.2 percentage points compared with the same period last year.

Twenty-one national surface water assessment sections in the city were all classified as grade Ⅲ or above, while the water quality of seven drinking water sources met the required standards.

In addition, the composite index of air quality was 3.39, with a PM2.5 concentration of 25 micrograms per cubic meter.
