Tongxiang in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, have exported 965.27 metric tons of Hangzhou white chrysanthemum with a value of 61.69 million yuan since the beginning of this year, according to Jiaxing Customs.

The quantity and value of the exported Hangzhou white chrysanthemum increased by 46.37 percent and 67.02 percent, respectively.

Tongxiang is the origin of Hangzhou white chrysanthemum and is known as "the Chinese home of Hangzhou white chrysanthemum ". Hangzhou white chrysanthemum cultivation area totals 47,000 mu (3,133 hectares) in the city.

Hangzhou white chrysanthemum is popular in Southeast Asian countries for its mellow and sweet taste.

The export price of the flower this year rose by about 20 percent over last year, said Cao Jianqing, manager of Tongxiang Xinhe Health Products Co Ltd.

"Assisting with the export of characteristic agricultural products has always been our focus," said Wang Wei, official of the supervision department of Jiaxing Customs. This year, due to optimized service supervision, the customs clearance time for Hangzhou white chrysanthemum exports was reduced by about 25 percent, he added.
