Jiaxing to build China's express delivery demonstration city

Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently received approval to build an express delivery demonstration city in China, according to the State Post Bureau.

The application requirements for demonstration cities of express delivery include a clear development strategy for the express delivery industry, a certain development level in the express delivery industry, a complete express delivery service network, and the fruitful coordinated development of the express delivery industry.

Official statistics showed that in 2021, the city's annual postal industry business revenue amounted to 10.6 billion yuan ($1.54 billion), a year-on-year growth of 23.1 percent. A total of 1.16 billion goods were received by the postal industry, ranking 24th nationwide.

There are currently 82 express enterprises, 934 express service nodes, and 24 state-owned, private, foreign and individual express network brands in the city, including two provincial distribution centers and 12 municipal distribution centers.

By 2025, the city's express delivery service volume is expected to exceed 1.6 billion, with an average annual growth rate of more than 10 percent. Business revenue is expected to exceed 16 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of more than 15 percent. More than 20,000 people are expected to be involved in the industry.
