Representative of more than 50 Haining-based enterprises recently flew to Germany to attend the Frankfurt International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles to explore overseas markets, local media reported on Jan 7.

The Frankfurt International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from Jan 10 to 13 and is the largest and the most influential professional home textile exhibition in the world.

High-quality textiles brought by Chinese exhibitors have been a highlight of past fairs, said Olaf Schmidt, vice president of Messe Frankfurt Textiles and Textile Technology Exhibition. This year, more than 400 Chinese companies were invited to the fair, including over 50 Haining-based enterprises.

In 2022, Haining organized for more than 20 enterprises to participate in the exhibition held in Japan, during which the intended transaction value exceeded $11 million.

In addition, the city held the "2022 Zhejiang Haining Export Commodities Online Fair", during which, 54 Haining foreign trade enterprises connected with 64 overseas buyers from RCEP member countries such as Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and completed 189 online negotiations, reaching an intended transaction value of nearly $5 million.

Through the joint efforts of the local government and enterprises, in 2022, the city's total export value exceeded 70 billion yuan ($10.3 billion), a year-on-year growth of 21 percent.
