The first Yangtze River Delta Malaysian Student Exchange Conference was recently held in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.

The event was hosted by the China-Malaysia Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and was attended by over 200 Malaysian students, as well as representatives from the Malaysian Consulate General in Shanghai.

The conference introduced Haining's economic advantages and preferential policies, welcoming Malaysian entrepreneurs and students to work, live and start businesses in the city.

Twenty companies from Haining, Shanghai, Ningbo, Suzhou and Wuxi attended the job fair held during the event, welcoming Malaysian students to apply for jobs.

Cai Jiayu, a recent graduate majoring in finance from Zhejiang University, expressed strong interest in Hongda High-tech Holding Co Ltd in Haining and submitted his resume on site.

"I have been thinking about working in China for a long time as I have been studying here for four years. If I get the opportunity to work in Zhejiang, I would be very honored," said Cai.

The Malaysia-Haining Innovation Center was also unveiled during the conference.

The China-Malaysia Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce was established in February with its headquarters located in Haining.

The conference was the first large-scale event held by the chamber. It is meant to serve as a talent exchange platform for the Yangtze River Delta region, said Cai Qingxin, vice president of the chamber.
