The museum of Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province held a launch event for a series of Song-Dynasty (960-1279)-themed cultural and creative products on May 17 to mark International Museum Day on May 18.

The products include T-shirts, tote bags and notebooks. The designs integrate the museum's rarest treasures from the Song Dynasty with cartoon images.

According to officials, they want to make the museum more popular among young people through a series of interactive activities and initiatives.

This year, Lishui Museum will roll out four Song-Dynasty-themed exhibitions – as well as educational activities – to teach more people about the prosperous dynasty.

International Museum Day is held annually on or around May 18 and is coordinated by the International Council of Museums.
