Fangshan town in Qingtian county, Zhulong town in Longquan city and Dongxiyan scenic spot in Liandu district – all located in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – were recently selected in the province's 12th batch of ecological civilization education bases.

Fangshan town, as one of the three major places in Qingtian county, has 22.3 square kilometers of woodland and 5.7 sq k of shrub, with a vegetation coverage rate of 95 percent.

Relying on the ecological and sustainable agriculture model of its fish which are raised in the waters of its rice paddy fields, the town has reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It has also reduced the agricultural surface-source pollution, promoting the green development of aquaculture.

Zhulong town is the first of its kind in the country to propose an ecological public welfare forest mortgage project. Its ecological public welfare forest area has reached 262,800 mu (17,520 hectares).

It also built a cherry blossom forest park covering more than 1,300 mu, providing more recreation options for local people and realizing ecological dividends.

The Dongxiyan scenic spot, as a provincial scenic spot and a 4A-level tourist attraction, is famous for its two rocks facing each other in the east and west. The spot has held 117 activities based on the characteristics of its Danxia landform and the culture of the local She ethnic group.
