The China Qingtian Metaverse International Forum was held in Qingtian county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – on Jan 9-10.

A senior county official said that he was extremely bullish about growth prospectors for the sector there.

"We will take metaverse and other digital economy formats as the major growth platform for our future economy and will strive to build up Qingtian as a demonstration and leading area for the global metaverse industrial supply chain," he told the forum.

Qingtian county has been focusing on developing digital economy, especially the new metaverse industry in recent years. It opened the Nvidia Qingtian Innovation Center, built the first metaverse intelligent computing center in China and released the country's first county-level metaverse industry development plan.

The Nvidia Qingtian Innovation Center is designed with the world's leading Nvidia intelligent computing architecture and will feature the first new metaverse infrastructure integrating computing forces, algorithms and development platforms in China.

Once completed, the performance of computing forces per second will exceed 1 trillion times, and a metaverse digital asset creation platform covering the whole process of metaverse collaborative design, physical simulation, real-time rendering and intelligent interaction will be built.

The center will provide infrastructure support for the metaverse industry in Zhejiang and the Yangtze River Delta region.
