Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province launched an exciting culture and tourism promotions event on Jan 16.

The event, which runs to Feb 28, aims to stimulate the local cultural and tourism scene in the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.

According to officials, the event has three major features – special prices for Lishui's hotels and homestays, free tickets for the Yunhe Terrace tourist spot and a series of activities promoting local culture and custom.

From Jan 16 to Feb 28, nearly 100 quality hotels and homestays in the city will launch holiday special products such as special-price rooms, Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve dinners, buffets and afternoon teas.

There will be nearly 100 online and on-site culture activities, including hands-on handicraft making experiences, Village Spring Festival Galas and ceremonies for the local Longquan celadon ceramics kiln's first firing of the year.

"We are hoping to liven up the Spring Festival and bring more fun and benefits to locals and tourists," said an official from the local culture, radio, tourism and sport bureau.
