Lishui city ramps up trade ties with Latin America

The city of Lishui – located in East China's Zhejiang province – has been actively exploring new opportunities for trade and cooperation with Latin American countries.

Recently, a delegation of its officials and business representatives visited Brazil and Chile to promote bilateral commerce and cooperation.

The delegation – which included Lishui's auto and motorcycle parts enterprises – attended the Automec 2023 trade fair for autoparts, accessories and services in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

According to the Lishui Municipal Bureau of Commerce, a dozen of the city's businesses wrote up a $30 million in preliminary supply orders and $4 million in on-site sales orders.

The delegation also met with local governments and overseas Chinese communities in the cities of Santiago, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. They discussed topics such as Lishui's agricultural products, staging an overseas Chinese expo and strategic cooperation between their respective chambers of commerce.

They also signed strategic cooperation agreements and commerce and trade cooperation agreements with Maua city in Sao Paulo and Talca City in Chile. The agreements aim to promote cooperation in commerce and trade, in investment and in other fields.
