Liandu district

Liandu district was founded as Kuocang county in 589, and established as Liandu district in July 2000.

Under the district's jurisdiction are five townships, four towns and six subdistricts.

Liandu is one of the key districts (or counties and cities) for ethnic work in Zhejiang province. Its absolute population of ethnic minority ranks second in the province and first in the city.

There are several revolutionary sites in the district, which was approved as a county revolutionary base site in May 1988 by the People's Government of Zhejiang province.

Tongjiyan irrigation system, the oldest water conservancy project in Zhejiang province, is located in Yantou village, Bihu town, Liandu district.

The district is also famous as a township of entertainment, photography, oil painting and fruit. 

In 2023, Liandu has achieved a regional GDP of 51.846 billion yuan ($7.20 billion), up by 7.6 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents have increased by 5 percent and 7 percent respectively.
