Chengxi village in Liandu district, Lishui, Zhejiang province has been bustling with activity recently, as a unique area featuring repurposed containers captured considerable attention.

Located in the only ethnic minority community in Lishui, the area is the first of its kind in Liandu, composed of 47 containers spreading across 3,200 square meters. It is a fusion of culture, recreation, dining, and entertainment, with striking black, red, and white container facades, able to accommodate 76 tenants.

"We not only want to make this place trendy and fashionable, but also want to integrate ethnic culture and entertainment into the design," explained Chen Yadan, the project leader.

Chen added that a variety of activities will be hosted in the future, including markets and music festivals, promising a diverse and engaging environment for visitors.

The area is divided into three sections: the containers, a box space, and a night market, offering a unique way to experience Liandu's folk culture and local delicacies. The area opened to the public on May 1.

As day transitions into night, the night market comes alive, attracting foodies from all over. With plenty of culinary delights and a vibrant atmosphere, locals and visitors alike flock to enjoy the diverse offerings.

By leveraging the unique cultural heritage of Chengxi village, the area has transformed idle resources into a bustling economic and cultural hub.
