With tea tables shaped like traditional Chinese paper-cuts, pictures of Hangzhou scenery on the walls, screens depicting renowned art pieces, and sculpture in the shape of lotus in the West Lake, the media center always sent out a Chinese and Hangzhou stylistic fragrance, adding a subtle aesthetic beauty to the succinctly designed center.
"The media center this year is the best one I have ever seen in that it was always clean, orderly, convenient and provided good computers and quick internet," praised a reporter from Zambia, who has participated in numerous international meetings. He concluded, "All the supporting facilities were great".
The center was built for professionalism, convenience, and speed. Authorities made an emergency brochure of more than 500 pages detailing general pre-arranged planning and 17 sub-plans in advance in case of emergencies. They also provided 24- hour language service during the summit.
