Counting rhymes

Before starting school many children are taught rhymes to help them to learn how to count. Here's an excerpt from one of the most popular counting rhymes.

"One chicken, two fliers, only cost three coppers. They're from Sichuan – four rivers, different faces and colors, five or six, they came on a camel about seven or eight feet high. Daddy bought them, and soaked them in liquor (jiu) but actually he didn't, he tricked me!"
