A special activity under the theme of Taizhou and Wenzhou's distinctive local cultures was held on Jan 4 in Hou'an village of Tiantai county, Zhejiang province.

The activity, consisting of a range of events including demonstrations of both the two cities' intangible cultural heritages, writing Spring Festival couplets and performing Yue Opera and local dances, attracted numerous visitors from across the two cities.

"I have been waiting for a whole day to watch the fantastic Yue Opera," said Chen Fengchai, a Yue Opera devotee from Tiantai county. The opera was performed by renowned artists Tang Lifang and Jia Xiaoping from Wenzhou city who are both national first-class performers.

"I hope more artists can bring their performances to Tiantai and we will redouble our efforts to provide more similar platforms to meet the cultural demands of our people," said Chen Hongjun, a cadre of Hou'an village.
