Lantern shows expect to dazzle Hangzhou
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, will be lit up by dazzling lantern shows to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival taking place on Feb 11 this year.
Wushan Square Lantern Show
Date: Feb 10-12
Location: Wushan Square, Shangcheng district
Wushan Square will welcome a wall of dazzling lanterns this year, and the highlight of the lantern show will be a six meter tall lantern in the shape of a rooster.

Qiantang Lantern Show
Date: Feb 9
Location: Dengxinxiang community, Xiacheng district
The Qiantang lantern show originated in the Song Dynasty (960-1127). Dengxinxiang community, the birthplace of the time-honored show, has since been an attractive scenic spot in Hangzhou during the Lantern Festival. Visitors will be entertained with dragon and lion dances, assorted displays of lanterns, interesting lantern riddles and cultural performances. Lu Zhanglin, an inheritor of traditional lantern crafting, will demonstrate how to make a lantern for the public at the show.
