The 2017 Wenzhou International Fashion Cultural and Creative Industries Expo (WZCIE), a platform for display, exchange and cooperation among cultural industries, closed in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on March 27.
The expo attracted more than 200,000 visitors and 490 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions from March 23 to 27, with transactions surpassing a volume of 358 million yuan ($51.95 million) and agreements worth 1.26 billion yuan reached this year.
This year's expo featured a special exhibition area for cultural and creative products from countries along the Belt and Road, including Portugal, Hungary, India and Latvia. The expo facilitated cooperation between Wenzhou's button industry and Portuguese button producer Louropel. Louropel is known for its innovative technology, while button companies in Wenzhou excel in design and production. The cooperation is expected to see both sides profit greatly.
Products from the cities of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shaoxing, Nanchang and Jinhua made appearances at this year's WZCIE, including Hangzhou's eye-catching silk products. The expo also provided a platform for scholars and entrepreneurs to discuss the development of cultural industries through a series of seminars.
Hu Jianjin, director of the city's publicity department, said the cultural and creative industries of Wenzhou have great potential and a lot of space for improvement. WZCIE gathers experts and excellent products together to explore the development of the city's cultural and creative industries.
