Review of major activities of the 2017 China International Cartoon and Animation Festival
C.A.K.E. TALK Master

The C.A.K.E. TALK Master, held on Wednesday, attracted many leading industry experts including Sean Feeney, senior vice-president of Animation of Prime Focus World, and Marc Handler, executive producer at Walt Disney Co of China.
Newly launched in 2017, the C.A.K.E. TALK Forum is a major highlight of the 13th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival forums. C.A.K.E. stands for Creative, Animation, Knowledge and Exchange.
The forum allowed professionals to share their opinions about animated films, series, games, cartoons, TV and broadcast, painting, design, dancing, publication, and other new topics concerning the pan-entertainment industry.
The Core Forum

The Core Forum of the China International Cartoon and Animation Industry Summit forums is an annual grand gathering for global professionals, masters and businesses in the animation industry. It is a platform for experts to exchange ideas about the latest animation works and new trends, and to promote industrial cooperation. The forum is seen as a barometer of the world's animation industry.
The 2017 Core Forum attracted many industry experts, including CEO of Trio Media Ventures Andrew Richard Jones, director of BBC Children Alice Webb and producer of the animated feature Song of the Sea, Paul Young.
The Cosplay Super Show Final competition
Date: April 27-30
The China Cosplay Super Show is the first Chinese cosplay competition that launched overseas divisions. It also has 27 domestic divisions in provinces and cities including Beijing, Jilin, Gansu and Fujian.
One of the most important events at the annual China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, the Cosplay Super Show is also one of the most representative cosplay competitions nationwide due to it having the highest competition level, most extensive area and largest number of participants.
The competition creates chances for domestic cosplay businesses and fans to communicate and seek cooperation with foreign partners. It has also established a solid foundation for Hangzhou to form the World Cosplay Alliance.
International Animation Business Conference
Date: April 24-28
A five-day event aimed at promoting trade in sectors such as cartoons, gaming, animations, films and production, the meetings focused on five key areas, including program trading, intellectual property licensing and content cooperation.
More than 2,500 organizations and businesses from 14 countries and regions participated in the conference. Nearly 300 cooperation projects, 320 cartoons, 150 creative ideas and more than 100 foreign-developed projects have been shown.
Golden Monkey King Award Ceremony

The Golden Monkey King Award was developed from the Beautiful Monkey Award, which was established in 1988.
China Radio International, the Zhejiang provincial government and some leading academic institutions in China jointly developed the Golden Monkey King Award, aimed at encouraging the creation of original animation products. Many global and domestic cartoons have won the award, including Kung Fu Panda and Toy Story 3.
